Moneyquest & Bestquote's commitment to the MCCB
(Mortgage Code
Compliance Board)
A
Code of Practice which sets standards of good mortgage lending practice in the
buying and selling of mortgages. The Mortgage Code provides protection for the
mortgage borrower. It was introduced for lenders in July 1997 and for brokers in
April 1998. The Code provides valuable safeguards for customers, helping them
understand how lenders and brokers are expected to deal with them. It sets out:
1.
How mortgages should be arranged by lenders and brokers
2. What information customers should receive
before committing themselves
3. How a mortgage should be dealt with once
it is in place
There are several requirements that lenders and
brokers have to comply with at the outset, and therefore actions that customers
should expect:
1.
Lenders and brokers must confirm their adherence to the Mortgage Code.
2. All potential customers must be given a
copy of the leaflet You and Your Mortgage at the outset, which outlines the
minimum standards which mortgage lenders and brokers have to meet under the
Mortgage Code.

2. Level of service provided by Moneyquest.co.uk
Our site and
telephone-based service aims to provide you with information on the different
types of mortgage product on offer so that you can make an informed choice of
which to take. We do not give
advice.
3. Fees
Moneyquest receives a fee
for every mortgage successfully completed through us. We will advise you in
writing of all fees payable to the Company of
£250 and
above. If the fees are less than £250 we
will advise you in writing that a fee has been paid to the company.
However, whether you are a
first time buyer, buy to let, looking to re-mortgage or have had numerous
mortgages in the past, we would strongly recommend that you do not try to
arrange a mortgage yourself on-line. Mortgages can be quirky as too many things
can go wrong. The choice of fixed, discount, capped, flexible and tracker rates
means you may have literally thousands of choices and it is important to get it
right first time.
Instead fill in our
brief
enquiry form
and one of our consultants will provide you all the information you need
to make an informed choice on which mortgage is best for you. We can even
arrange everything over the phone completely free of charge!.
